 What to consider when researching your next position?

It is not enough just to have a cursory look on the company website you must drill down into the recent past if you want to stand out from the crowd.  

• Start with the company website.
• Move on to the news, and any recent newsworthy wins for the organisation ?
• Look into the C Suite, how long are they in place where have they come from?
• Do you have anything in common with any of the top management, i.e university, previous employment, etc.
• Look on LinkedIn and find out the career progression of the people who will be interviewing you, spot the things you have in common.
• Find out how long the organisation have been in their current location, where did they come from previously.
• Understand the development of the organisation from start to current.

The above is an arsenal or knowledge that can be included in cover letters and dropped into interview conversations.
